• An enterprise financial institution located in Ramallah is looking to hire a Database Administrator, to work in their IT Department
• Brief description:
• The DBA Job Responsibilities will consist of assuring the performance, integrity, and security, planning and developing the database, ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency, and troubleshooting any database issues.
• Responsibilities
• Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security.
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide the best performance of the relevant resources.
• Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model.
• Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements.
• Install and test new versions of the database management system.
• Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act.
• Write database documentation, including data standards and procedures
• Control access permissions and privileges
• Develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans
• Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
• Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
• Key Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• DBA has to be aligned with the latest relevant knowledge, Excellent self-learner, and Capable of applying information and solutions in the proper context.
• Good time management and prioritization of the workload.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• The ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
• The ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues.
• Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT
• A willingness to keep up to date with developments in new technology
• An understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act.
• Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, LINUX OS.
• Clear communicator
• 2-3 Years of experience are recommended
• Ability to work late at night, on a regular basis if needed.
• Living in Ramallah (recommended)
