POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager Consultant to lead and execute the Taawon intervention “Integrating STE(A)M in the Palestinian schools”. The consultant will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the various activities related to this intervention. The role primarily focuses on the execution level, ensuring the successful delivery of activities and achieving desired outcomes. The consultant will collaborate with the different stakeholders, manage project teams, and ensure effective coordination to meet project objectives.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Project Management: The Project Manager Consultant should have a strong background in project management methodologies and tools. This includes expertise in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in managing complex projects within the education sector, particularly those focused on quality education, STEM, and STEAM, is highly desirable.
Quality Education: The Project Manager should Consultant possess knowledge and experience in the field of quality education. This includes a general understanding of the principles and best practices of quality education and knowledge about STE(A)M approaches in education. Familiarity with frameworks and initiatives promoting quality education, such as UNESCOs Education 2030 Framework for Action, is advantageous.
Teacher Professional Development: The Project Manager Consultant should have knowledge in designing and implementing teacher professional development programs.
Stakeholder Engagement: The Project Manager should be skilled in engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in the education sector. This includes educational institutions, teachers, administrators, government officials, community representatives, and potential partner organizations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to foster effective relationships and partnerships to support the projects goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Execute project activities in line with established plans, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful completion.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including schools, educators, community organizations, and relevant partners.
- Engage stakeholders to gather input, align objectives, and foster collaboration in the implementation of STE(A)M interventions.
- Maintain effective communication channels to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the implementation of the different activities and events related to the intervention.
- Ensure the smooth coordination of project teams, including trainers, educators, and other relevant personnel.
- Collect, analyze, and report on project data and indicators, tracking progress toward desired outcomes.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and other relevant documents.
- Prepare regular status updates and reports on project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices within the organization and with external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, STEM, or related disciplines).
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the education sector or related fields.
- knowledge and understanding of quality education principles, STEM, and STEAM approaches.
- Experience in executing projects at the implementation level, delivering tangible results.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address project challenges.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and priorities.
- Knowledge of local education context and networks is desirable.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
