Senior Fundraising and Communication Officer
Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) is a leading national non-governmental, non-profit organization providing specialized healthcare, rehabilitation, and community-based services to persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups across Palestine.
BASR is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Senior Fundraising and Communication Officer to strengthen its fundraising, donor relations, and strategic communication functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding funding opportunities, developing partnerships, and promoting BASR’s mission, achievements, and impact locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies aligned with BASR’s strategic priorities and programs.
- Identify new funding opportunities and maintain strong relationships with international donors, foundations, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, grant applications, and donor reports.
- Coordinate donor communications and ensure timely submission of accurate and professional reports.
- Develop compelling stories, case studies, impact reports, and communication materials highlighting BASR’s work and achievements.
- Manage organizational communication channels, including website content, newsletters, and social media, publications, and awareness campaigns.
- Support fundraising campaigns, donor events, and institutional visibility activities.
- Ensure consistency of BASR’s branding and external communication messages.
- Collaborate with medical, rehabilitation, program, and administrative teams to collect information and evidence for proposals and communication materials.
- Represent BASR professionally with donors, partners, and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Development, Business Administration, Marketing, Fundraising Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, donor relations, communications, or a related field, preferably within an NGO, healthcare, humanitarian, or development organization.
- Demonstrated experience in securing and managing grants funded by the European Union (EU), U.S. Government agencies, or other major bilateral and multilateral donors.
- Proven experience in developing funding proposals, concept notes, donor reports, and fundraising strategies.
- Thorough understanding of EU and U.S. donor regulations, compliance requirements, procurement rules, visibility guidelines, and grant management procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working with international donors, foundations, and institutional partners.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in Arabic and English, with strong English writing ability.
- Strong skills in strategic communication, storytelling, content development, and organizational branding.
- Ability to communicate organizational impact and achievements through professional donor-focused materials.
- Excellent organizational, networking, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital communication tools and donor management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare, rehabilitation, disability, or humanitarian sectors.
- Experience managing relationships with international funding agencies and preparing multi-year proposals.
- Knowledge of donor compliance requirements, grant management, and reporting procedures.
- Experience with monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) approaches.
- Experience working in complex humanitarian or emergency contexts.
