About Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC):
Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) is a local NGO, established in 1992 in Gaza City, in order to help persons with hearing disability in the Gaza Strip to have their chance in life through education, rehabilitation, and job training and employment opportunities. From its establishment as a small school for the students with hearing disability serving 27 pupils in 1992, Atfaluna now serves more than 40,000 persons with and without disabilities annually through a multitude of interventions and training programs implemented within a holistic and right-based and inclusive approaches involving children and adults with without disabilities, their families, service providers organizations, and the community-at-large.
Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children, located in Gaza strip, is inviting applications from qualified persons for the post of hiring IT Coordinator
Reports to: ASDC’s Director
Job Summary:
IT Coordinator responsible for managing the organization’s IT infrastructure and ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of information systems and data.
The role includes implementing cybersecurity measures, monitoring risks, and enforcing data protection policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, administer, and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud servers, networks, systems, and hardware.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain server environments (file servers, application servers, email systems, backups), ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve information security, cybersecurity, and data protection controls to safeguard organizational data and digital assets.
- Manage user access control, permissions, authentication, and role-based access across servers, systems, email, and applications, in line with the principle of least privilege.
- Ensure regular, secure data backups, off-site/cloud backup replication, restoration testing, and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems and servers.
- Conduct IT and cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability checks, and system audits; proactively identify, document, and mitigate risks.
- Monitor systems and servers for security incidents, malware, unauthorized access, or data breaches, and lead timely incident response and recovery actions.
- Maintain and update firewalls, antivirus/endpoint protection, patch management, and system updates across servers and user devices.
- Ensure secure configuration and maintenance of the organization’s email systems, protection against phishing, spam, and data leakage.
- Maintain and update the organization’s official website and online platforms, ensuring secure hosting, regular updates, backups, and protection against cyber threats.
- Prepare and maintain IT, server, and cybersecurity documentation, including network diagrams, server configurations, backup logs, access records, and incident reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, donor requirements, data protection regulations, and cybersecurity standards (e.g. data confidentiality and safeguarding requirements).
- Coordinate with external IT service providers, hosting companies, internet providers, and cybersecurity vendors, ensuring service quality and security compliance.
- Prepare technical and security performance reports for management, audits, and donor reviews as required.
- Deliver staff training and awareness sessions on information security, safe system usage, data protection, phishing prevention, and password management.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting for staff on hardware, software, network, and access issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Respond to user support requests in a timely, professional, and documented manner, following IT support procedures.
- Provide IT onboarding and security orientation for new staff, including system access setup and data protection guidance.
- Maintain and regularly update the IT asset inventory, including servers, laptops, network devices, licenses, and security tools.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in IT support, network administration, and information security.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data protection standards, and risk management practices..
- Experience in NGO or humanitarian environment (preferred)
- Experience in hardware and software systems
- Experience maintaining laptops, printers, copiers, and related peripherals
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic
